a movie newsletter for the people
hey everyone,
this is working title: a newsletter about movies. I watch a lot of movies and love talking about them, and thus this little project was born. this newsletter will be a once a week publication and I hope to use it for a myriad of things.
I’ll use it to recommend movies that I think you’d enjoy and where you can find them on the 29 different streaming services available/where you can find the film if it’s not available to stream. I’ll also preview upcoming movies that I think are worth your attention and to keep an eye out for!
I want to talk about movies in a way that is both serious but also fun and digestible. it’s easy to get on Film Twitter™️ or read reviews and feel overwhelmed. I want to talk about movies because I love them and want to share my excitement with you and give you things you enjoy! don’t get me wrong, I like some pretentious shit, but I also like the John Wick movies, so you’ll be getting the best of both worlds baby.
I’ll do “themed” newsletters where we break down genres or an actor/director’s best work. it’ll be a fun way to dive into some movies you maybe haven’t’ heard of before or to get a taste of a particular type of movie.
I’m friends with some really cool people who have very good taste and know things about film that I have never even considered. I hope to use this as a platform to show off how smart and cool they are to other people.
I’m grateful for anybody that reads/subscribes and I’m definitely down to take suggestions on types of movies/things to talk about here. next week, I’ll be (virtually) attending Sundance Film Fest and our first official newsletter will be a fun roundup of what I saw there. it’s easy to find people writing about movies online, so it’s no small thing for you to read mine.
